Somebody at your organization is supposed to know what council, the ministry and the regulator are about to do, and it is usually a person with another full time job. This is the brief that hands the checking to whichever AI assistant you already have. Copy it, paste it into a new conversation, and it asks which pages matter and where the alert should land before it watches anything.
You learn about the rule change from a competitor's post, not from the government that made it. The consultation that shaped it closed last month, and the notice sat the whole time on a page you already knew about, one click deep, updated on a day nobody looked.
The pages have always been public, and reading them has always been a job nobody was given. Agendas, bills, consultations and registries each update on their own rhythm, in their own corner of a different website, and the only organizations that saw things early were the ones paying somebody to look. An assistant that can read a page on a schedule closes that gap: it holds yesterday's copy of every page, says nothing while nothing changes, and puts the quoted line and the deadline in front of you the morning something does.
It is an ordinary chat window, whichever assistant you use. You paste the brief, answer its questions about which pages matter, and it does the checking from there. Nothing gets installed.
What it does not do. It watches the pages it was given and nothing else. A decision announced somewhere you never listed will pass it by, and it tells you which pages it could not read rather than guessing at them.
A policy lead pastes the brief into the assistant their company runs and names the one decision they cannot be surprised by. It proposes pages across the bodies that own that decision, and the baseline run reports that one of them only renders in a browser, so it watches the feed behind it instead. The next check is silence. The one after carries a single new agenda item, quoted, linked, with the meeting date on top.
